Consulate General of India will be celebrating the 3rd International Day of Yoga (June 21) in Dubai and Northern Emirates with events being organized in association with various yoga schools, Indian associations, community organizations and local government authorities. The United Nations had declared June 21 as the International Day of Yoga in 2014 with a historic resolution co-sponsored by 177 countries. The First and Second International Day of Yoga were celebrated across the world in 2015 and 2016.
Encouraged by the big success of organizing the event at a large scale in the last two years, the Consulate has chosen to work with the motto of “Yoga at your doorstep” and has worked with various partners to organize Yoga events in several places. The main events in Dubai will be held on June 20 from 2000 hrs onwards at Zaabeel Park, Burj Khalifa Park and Burhani Complex. An event will also be held at the same time in Sharjah Cricket Stadium. In other Emirates, the Indian Associations and other organizations are celebrating the Day with events between June 20 and 22. A number of schools have also shown interest in doing Yoga on June 21 in their own premises.
Consulate General of India, Dubai invites all Yoga enthusiasts to participate in the various Yoga events. One can register for the events at our website www.iyd.ae.
